permanent in-car video recording setup?

Featured Replies

Someone from my advanced driving group has a proper video recording setup hidden behind his rear view mirror, hooked up to switched live and a unit which records footage on to a 16gb memory card (good enough for 8 hours @ 720 pixels apparently)

Interested in getting something similar myself. The camera unit was about the size of a packet of polo mints, maybe a bit chunkier, and the recorder unit was tucked away safely. Anyone know of anything similar? (and perhaps cheaper than £250! :D)

I have "witness driving" on my iphone (£0.69) and it record very well, in 10 6 minute strips overlaying each other, so you always have the last hours driving, and you can export the video :) here's an example...

I repeat 60 PENCE! it records speed direction g-forces GPS co-ordinates ect ect and will e-mail you if a crash happens..

example of video

Roadhawk cameras are £199 and Brisky members get 10% off.

I use an android phone and don't have any kind of holder. I am after something I can forget is even there, but will always be recording even when my mind isn't aware of it.

Roadhawk looks OK, but seems to be cigarette lighter only. I definitely want mine hardwired 24/7, and preferably have a more subtle camera than something on a suction mount.

check it out anyway... uploaded

I have just bee looking at the roadhawk, & on the site they say that it can be hard wired in., They also had a popup window to chat online to someone @ roadhawk.

Might be worth having another look ?
