As above from Rob. Check out my motor

that's just made it a harder task of choosing ;)

seems daft that skoda don't offer darker alloys as they look so much nicer.

anyone know the weight of just the alloy (no tyre) if I have to go to spend £220 or so on spraying I might just get a lighter new set to go on

I was also torn between silver or white with the dark wheels.

Main reason I went for white was that I'd had several other silver cars in the past with gunmetal or anthracite wheels so i thought I'd try white for a change.

Also, white saves you 440 quid!

Nobbers car does look good though:

.. vs mine (n a rare moment of cleanliness):

IIRC a 18" zenith weighs 12kg, I assume a neptune would be about the same. To get some high quality lightweight wheels will cost you a lot more than painting your OE rims.. depends on how much you want lightness really. Something like a Neuspeed in 18" only weights 8kg but they are over a grand for a set.

Painting my wheels cost me less than 200 quid.

i was thinking team dynamics 1.2's 9kg in 18x8 in anthracite - about £500 - 600 - cheapest of the light wheels on the market. not sure on looks though on a octavia

would sell the standard 18's - so about the same cost I imagine

Didn't realise 1.2's were that cheap now. Brimma had a set on his diesel wagon, TBH they didn't look great - he took them off.. Light though!

both look very smart - is your car lowered at all?

Both are lowered. Mine is on eibachs with standard dampers, so about a 20mm drop. Rob's is on coilovers so a bigger drop but a little more costly.

I need to assess ground clearance before dropping - I need to drive onto construction sites so grounding is a possibility.

Yes, mine is around -35mm in that pic.

Get silver looks really good and quite rare. Wish I had of gone for that or black instead of white again.
