dmf

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

I am looking to tune my vrs but I really don't wanna go smf because I feel they are to noisey what can the standard dmf take in power.

I went on to europart website I found a shach dmf is that better than a standard or are they the same if someone could help me out that would be great.

Thanks

Craig

Sachs clutch is prob the make of the standard item anyway. They'll cope with hybrid power, just have to get the mapper to be a bit restrictive on the torque.

Thanks mate so how much torgue do you think they can take because what I was looking to do it but a performance clutch and run it on the standard dmf

Standard dmf's can go at stock power so there far from bombproof

Mine went kaboom after 30k at a measly 195bhp and 299lb-ft torque

Sachs clutch is prob the make of the standard item anyway.

VAG use Sachs and LUK. :)

So to be honest its spin and win when it comes down to dmf. So I take that the reason why people go for the smf conversion as it can hold more power and less to go wrong.

If you really wanted the DMF, you could replace it when you do the clutch with a new one. Providing you drive it properly and got a decent map, there`s no reason why it wouldnt last year and year. However, a heavy smf wouldnt be that loud tbh, and more reliable in the long run I guess
