Hi,

Just preparing the 07 1.9DTI Classic for heavy taxi work. What items should I have in store on standby eg. Oil, Brake Fluid, Screenwash ect, what spec for each please.

For Oil Longlife 3 Full Syn has been recommended, Unipart Screenwash Concentrate...what else?

Interior is fabric with grey vinyl trim....I use microfiber cloths, but what spray or cream would I use to maintain good vinyl interior? Unipart of Halfords or GSF parts.

No paintwork advice needed at this time.

All good advice welcome,

fonaspin

Body and trim (apart from the stupid VAG rubber coating on the door pulls) are durable on the B5.5.

If you are going to give one of these vehicles heavy use, see my thread on preventative maintenance and fix the water ingress design fault.

These vehicles will run to starship mileages (only with a 1.9 PD engine and 5 speed manual transmission) but you must address the VAG design faults - otherwise expensive grief.

Put the polish away and move to more serious stuff.

Hi,

Car is the 1.9Dti 115 bhp 40K miles. Booked in to resolve water issue in a few days. Current symptoms are intermittant window travel, reading white lights out, auto boot switch in driver door out. Condensation occuring, new control unit required.

Checked the preventative tips thank you, will get estimate and apply ASAP.

Great guru attitude, good luck to you.
