rear interior light LED upgrade issue

Featured Replies

originally i posted this in the mk1 section in error. a guy i work with has an octy vrs on a 56 plate. he bought the LED replacement lights for the interior and when fitted and car unlocked the light in the back wont go off. the front light dims and goes off with the door closed as usual but the rear doesnt, even if the key is in the ignition and engine on. when locked it goes off. hes tried the other bulb that he knows works in the front in the back and it does the same thing. also the original bulb was re tried and that works as it should. any ideas?????? hes said its not throwing up any dash warnings

Very strange, iirc the interior lights aren't on the canbus system anyway so he shouldn't get a warning.

Had almost the same issue as you( the light stayed on reduced to 10% power until way 20sec after closing the car), once put a canbus led on one ( front or back) the problem went away.

Having bought a pair of canbus tubular I put one on the front and one on the rear, and went away.

This also happened for the interior trunk and mirror puddle lights. My friends 2003 Fabia did this in the trunk, a canbus led resolved this.

Many donnot know this happens cause they close the car and walk away cause eventually it will go out.
