Petrol Yeti's and New Regulations

Featured Replies

Read in this weeks Auto Express that "standard" E5 Unleaded petrol (containing up to 5% ethanol) is to be replaced next year by E10 unleaded which will contain 10% ethanol. The only unleaded fuel available with 5% (E5) will then be Super Unleaded - at approx 8p per litre premium over regular unleaded. A DfT statement said that "the use of E10 petrol should not present a problem with modern cars except those with direct-injection or those manufactured before 1993".

Anyone know whether petrol Yeti's - particularly the 1.2 Tsi version I am waiting for - are compatible with E10 unleaded?

Yes yours will be fine, only the 1.8 TFSI might not be, but all the TSI engines are fine to run with E10

Edit. The 190E 1.8 16v from 1991yr onwards takes E10 fine as an example
