VRS Diesel 1st Service Due question...

Featured Replies

Hi All,

My VRS Diesel is coming up on it's 1st birthday and so it got me wondering about the 1st service and what will happen...

I'd like to do the variable servicing as the car is leased on a 3 year deal so if I only need to service it a couple of times rather than 3 I'll save myself the cost of a service over the lease period.

What do I need to do? anything...or will the car tell me when a service is due?

Or do I need to get the 1st service done and then tell the garage to fix the reminder to do the variable service time?

Cluess that's me

Cheers

Gary

My 58 Plate on variable came up at about 18k then we changed it to fixed 10k.

You can press the button on the cluster and it will show up how many miles/days till the next service.

I think the exact procedure is in the manual.

If it is not yours at the end of it I suppose leave it on variable and see how you go.

Car will tell you when it's due in either case. If you're not getting the bell at one year you're on variable.

You'll be able to figure out what scheme you're on if you look up the time to service on the binnacle. I can't remember the exact procedure to bring it up you'll need to search.

You'll need to book the car in for the appropriate service and tell them before hand if you want to change from one to the other. If they're putting the car onto variable from fixed they'll need to use different oil.

I think the cars are all on variable by default.

They ALL come from the factory set to variable servicing, but some dealers change it to fixed without the owners request.

Same oil on the diesel vrs regardless of servicing regime as the DPF requires 507...
