BMW Head up Display

Featured Replies

I really want this for my car!

Through research, I've found there's a car HUD app that uses your Android or iPhone to reflect information on the windscreen. Unfortunately it looks disorientating and only works when dark.

It seems like an excellent safety tool. Most people look down to look at speed, or check gear, navigation directions etc so if it prevents you taking your eyes off the road, seems worthwhile. Anyone own/owned a BMW and had this? Worth the money?

I know Audi and BMW charge anywhere between £900 and £1500 for it so it's by no means cheap. I'm guessing other luxury car makers offer it in one guise or another also. Sadly not made it's way down to Skoda, Seat etc

Would it be possible to have a custom head-up display unit like the one you've linked and incorporate the bluetooth OBD adaptor that the Torque mobile app uses? That way you could show a whole multitude of information rather than just speed. Shame you can't get Navigation Information on there or cruise control speed.
