new Greenline estate wont drive in a straight line

Featured Replies

:(

My week old Greenline estate likes to wander over to the left it just will not stay straight

At first I assumed it was camber or lorry tracks in the motorway road surface

but now I am convinced it is wandering left - it doesn't exactly pull to the left but I do have to drive with a slight right hand down pressure to remain in a straight line

Skoda dealer technician has confirmed this on a test drive and i am booked in for a wheel alignment check

Most liekly it will have problem with tracking/alignment. Done correctly for all 4 wheels if should solve your problem. Where are you based?

I've had some problems getting the car aligned, with a gentle wander to the left and the steering wheel being slightly off centre even though it was set up correctly. After a few attempts we tried setting it up with me sat in the drivers seat holding the wheel. Result: perfect. I weigh 120kg so this may have something to do with it.

the skoda dealer in S.Wales who is going to check the tracking / alignment etc said it would be covered under warranty as the car is under 1000 miles - over this & they said it wouldn't have been warranty work & I would have had to pay em!!

swopped both fronts over i.e put front left on front right & vis versa.

On same motorway journey to work wandering left still there but i'm thinking not quite so bad as original ??

Let the dealer check everything out, but does should like a tracking/alignment.

Saying that, my old Audi suffered terribly from "tramlining" and following tracks in the road.
