Mk1 Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

I'm in need of some tyres as mine are low. Previously on my Leon, I'd used Falken FK452s for nearly 4 years solid (only one pair of Rainsport 2s), but these don't seem to be available in Fabia size (205/45/16). I'm not planning on buying winter tyres as even over the last couple of years the snow hasn't warranted it. Those were probably two of the harshest winters I can remember since I started driving and there was only a single journey in those two winters that I failed to make, so I really don't think winters are necessary when I can just use my common sense and stay at home.

At the moment I'm looking at either Uniroyal Rainsport 2s or Hankook V12 Evos, the Rainsports are out of stock at Camskill with no due date, whereas the V12s seem more available. Are they comparable to the Rainsports though? Anyone had both on a car and have an opinion either way?

Have you thought about the falken ze912? My link Never tried them myself and don't know about them apart from they're still falkens lol

They seem to have really good reviews My link

I haven't, although I did also have an earlier variant of the Falken "Ziex" range (the ZE512) and they weren't as good as the FK452 so I went off them a bit.

Rainsports seem absolutely impossible to find in 205/45/16

I did find one supplier, who had one in stock a few weeks ago.

Even though I don't need them just yet, if I find 4 available then I'd be buying them ready for when I do need them.

I've not been impressed with my T1Rs at all. They're good in the dry, but when it's greasy they're all over the place. They also seem to be made of cheese emoticon-0149-no.gif

Yeah, Camskill have no due dates on their website which is rare for them, in my experience. There's a chance I can get a pair from a local branch of ETS, but they were nearly £100 last time I bought some (though they were for my Leon so slightly bigger). Whereas the V12s also seem to get very good reviews and are £65 right now from Camskill, and say £10 each for fitting. Need to have a ring around at some point, maybe tomorrow and get something ordered up.
