Good result and nice to see ESP in place but I wonder if SUK will do the usual and drop it from the UK line-up in favour of 'bling' :wonder:

ESP is now an EU basic requirement just like ABS. So SUK can't take it out thankfully.

ESP is a great system, I'd like it to be mandatory on all cars.

Oops. Don't know how I missed that!

As of last month every new car sold in the EU must have ESP:

Is it not that all new cars must have the "option" of ESP? Because ESP is not standard on the most basic Volkswagen up! according to UK specs for that car.

It's not fitted as standard in Hyundai i10's as we speak...so don't agree with the above, I'm afraid...it's a £300 extra.  Only two cars with ESP specified are currently on order on the Hyundai system  resulting in the buyers (both of them) having to wait till June to collect their cars.

Maybe it is the same scenario as DRL's - i.e.applicable to new models only and not existing models ?
