  1. Presuming you have the DQ200 seven speed dry clutch DSG, this doesn’t sound good I’m sorry to say. Impossible to diagnose on a car forum, but it sounds to me like a mechatronic issue, or the accumulator failure (cracked casting) that’s quite common on the DQ200’s from this era. Better to take to a DSG knowledgeable workshop IMO, but a VAG dealer if needs must. No signs of leaking transmission fluid? Just to cover the simple stuff. Sorry to hear of your predicament - good luck with getting it fixed. Gaz
  2. Mrs Gaz has got Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6's on her Polo GTI, they've got quite good rim protection. Mrs Gaz still remains undefeated in the kerb assault operations though 🙄 Gaz
  3. Does this help? - looks like you might only need the chromed hinge corner piece: Appreciate it's a different style, but if your key blade isn't broken it looks relatively straightforward to me. Gaz
  4. Hello Richardos Glad to hear 👍 These are important cars and deserve to be looked after 😎 Gaz
  5. Looks like Metallic Quartz Grey to me. Probably worth noting it's a DSG too, not a manual Gaz
  6. One minute I was toddling along minding my own business, and then this stopped me: Gaz

  8. 500 page thread, wowzer!😮 And I'm still no closer to moving off the fence. Gaz
  9. I've got Plantronics Backbeat Pro2. Nice enough, but I wouldn't recommend. They were good for the price at the time. The faux leather on the over ear sponges is thin and breaks down very quickly, it's the same on the headband. I'm on my third lot of ear sponges, and bought a zip on headband cover. Friends have got the Apple over the ear cans, which are much better in my opinion, but they're about £500. As Lee's said, Sennheiser are excellent (had them before). Also consider Bose Quietcomfort, or the Sony WH1000 XM6. Gaz
  10. I have a V70 for similar duties. Many years ago I had a personal invite to a launch of the S2000 at the Birmingham NEC. It was a bit embarrassing to discover that my 6’4” frame wouldn’t fit 🙄 Shame because I’d had CRX Del Sol’s which I fitted in easily, and the S2000 was a logical progression 🤷‍♂️ Gaz
  11. Hello and welcome Eyefor Oooh I so very nearly bought a Black Edition back in 2019 😎 Ended up with my GTI instead. Gaz
  12. Hello Fishsoup 1: Yes. Seems like a reasonable request; 2: Not really, IMO. It's been serviced, probably on long life scheduling. You can change that to annual servicing from here on; 3: Not really, again IMO. In context, I bought a brand new Octavia in 2015, I brought the first service forward as it seemed like a sensible protective measure for the turbo. It still popped its turbo, six weeks out of warranty. 💩 happens. The mileage wouldn't bother me. We bought a 'high' mileage Polo in 2017. It's now a low mileage Polo 😁 and has quite possibly been the best car we've ever bought. Gaz
  13. Looking at the VCDS map, you have a few people local to you. It looks like @SJFISHER67 is from the Winchester area.
