car died, can any one help

Featured Replies

You will have to excuse the lack of detail as i am writing on behalf of my dad, he has a octavia vrs diesel and was driving along earlier when the car died and the image of the coil came onto the dash and it told him to take it to work shop. Does any one know what may have caused this, i am going to see if a friend can pop over tomorrow with a vag com to see if we can read the fault code.

If the coil light has come up It can mean a few things. Does the car run now?

yeah its the 2 litre TDI, i am unable to detect the sound of an injector ( not that i am overly sure what that would sound like ) its just cranking when the key is turned. Its going into the local skoda garage tomorrow as its under a form of warranty. I am interested to see how they are going to try an fob this off......

Remember, whether they diagnose a faulty injector or not as it's booked in then you may as well have all four replaced free of charge anyway!

Wait to see what the dealer diagnoses and come back here and let us know...

Whilst a bad injector is the most likely cause, I've also seen bad relays cause this kind of problem.

Either the ECU relay in the centre of the eBox or the fuel pump relay under the dash. If you lift the rear seat base, can you hear the fuel delivery unit running?
