cam belt

Featured Replies

hi, new on this forum, just bought a 2001 (y reg) octavia 1.9 tdi, with 127,770miles oc clock, now according to the service history it last had a cam belt on at 60,000, and according to the book shoud be changed at 60,000 intervals, so i took it into a local repair garage to have new timing belt kit fitted, i have now got the car back and notice that the engine is rocking on tickover, i suspect that they may have got the belt a tooth out any body any idea's on this ?

Take it back to the garage, pump timing could be out or incorrectly timed up if they used paint marks

They should also check and set pump timing with diagnostic equipment after the belt is changed.

Hi and welcome aboard.
