car just stopped help

Featured Replies

hi please help i have shoda superb 56 plate 2.0elegance it has just stopped wont start or turn over nor jump start turn the key and nothing the only thing i have is a warning light which says brake failure service manual surely that woudnt make the car not start or turn over would it please help fanks

If it won't turn over it could be a snapped timing belt!

I was thinking more of an immobiliser fault, but either way it's expensive (unless it's an immo coding fault that a dealer can fix without replacing the EMU)!

Hi, has anyone got vag-com/ vcds near you that could check fault code?

Oil pump dead + turbo..? :-)

its had a new oil pump and turbo the cam belt has not snapped but what i have noticed that were the cambelt is there are 2 white marks which i prosume should line up they dont they are about 5mm apart if the timing is out would that stop it from turning over and yes less of the smiley faces please

It could be something simple like a bad earth, try jump starting direct onto the starter motor, check the fuses aswell might be just one of them has blown.

Sometimes it's the simple little things so dont look at the worst case sinario, start at the easy end and eliminate one thing at a time.

Good luck

It's possible that the timing belt has slipped, same as the belt snapping :(

When you say it just stopped, do you mean it stopped when it was running? If so what sort of rpm was it at? Or do you mean it just stopped starting? If it's just stopped starting then it could be an immobilizer fault, try your spare key in that case first if that doesn't work get the fault codes read

Sorry to say that does sound like the timing belt slipped, best way to check is to get a socket on the bottom pully and try and turn the engine over. I hosnestly hope i am wrong m8
