Any Skoda interest in the USA?

Featured Replies

I believe the Beetle a few years ago; now the Mini Cooper has some followers. The Fabia?

A friend of ours in Oregon couldn't find any mention of Skoda anywhere near him...and after being in mine he was interested :)

Never ever seen a Skoda in the sunny U S of A.

Plenty of Fords though!

Dear Rob

Yeah!

Mini Cooper's are considered expensive apparently, though compared with what I don't know. I guess Skodas might be also expensive with shipping, import taxes etc but good to hear that well received.

Given the gain in reputation here, I wonder if Skoda should consider a 6-door limousine model

Skodas aren't officially imported into the USA, unlike VWs and Minis - so there won't be much interest.

Briskoda has at least four members from the USA (plus two from Canada; I don't think Skodas are sold there, either...):-

Silber_Igel from Maryland (Baltimore?) has a VW beetle.

Sco - also from Maryland - has a VW Passat which he is modifying into an Octavia look-alike.

IIRC there are also members in Texas and Los Angeles.

Already half way there with the Superb :D

We didn't see a single Skoda when we were in NYC, several VW's and Audi's though and even a s****y looking Audio showroom. Most of the cars were either Ford Crown Vic's (the yellow cabs) or Lincoln Town Cars (with their strange keyless entry system)

european cars in the USA are thought to be very presigius (sp??) you wil not see many coz the avarage red neck cannot afford them....thats why you see ...rappers falling over them selves for merc's and beemers etc....they carry alot higher street cred.....to be seen driving a european car the US means you have real money....
