Front wheel bearings

Featured Replies

Hi guys, how difficult is it as a DIY job, as the skoda dealer is asking for £550 for the pair of front bearings? Any special tools required, apart from the usual bearing puller/pusher?

Or would it be easier to remove the whole hub and take to a hydraulic press (we have a couple of them at work)? Is it possible to push the bearing out on a hydraulic press, or do I have to use a puller? I don't have a service manual, so does the £3 ebay CDROM have the details, or am I better off buying a Haynes for a Passat for example?

Many thanks for the advice.

Should of searched for it m8 here are some details :)My link
