I'm new here an on the look out for a new or nearly new Fabia VRS. I came close to ordering a new one a couple of months ago but just missed the end of the 5% VAT offer.

I'm picky about spec so will have a good root around here to see what options are worth having and which are a waste of time.

I'm playing around with specs at the moment and have come to the conclusion that I'll probably have to order my car. What is the real story about delivery times at the moment?

Hi Simon,

Regarding specification, we do find that with some Fabias that are available from group stock they are generally well spec'd. This does mean that if a customer wants one without the wait they may have to be a bit leanient with colour and spec (within reason) but get a car within a couple of weeks, not months.

In answer to your question on lead times, our last update (end November) from Skoda has said that at present we should quote around 16-18 weeks, however lead times are a difficult issue and we have found that over the year some had taken up to 9 months. BUT on the flipside of this, we had taken an order for a new vRS in October and the car has just pulled out of the factory! To be fair we would be quoting the above 16-18 weeks not the latter!
