S3 Seats help

Featured Replies

How would I go about fitting S3 interior in my fabia vrs?

Help please :)

Try and see. They are not a popular mod because there are other seats that are much more straight forward to do.

Custom subframes.

Weld the S3 ones to donor fabia ones.

Or like when I installed mk5 GTI seats, have to mess around with the bolt holes in the floor. :D

THe S3 Recaros are electric as well so you'll need to bear that in mind!

The Recaro seats fitted to a S3 unbolt from the subframes

The subframes will however not fit a Fabia so you will need replacements - be warned Recaro subframes are NOT cheap!

As for them being electric it is only the height adjustment that is electric so you can either run a suitably heavy duty loom to them (fused of course) or adjust them to the position you want with a temporary power feed.

The seats i had in my S3 were electric for everything other than moving them back and forward on the rails. ie. height adjustment, seat back tilt and lumbar support was all electric. Maybe some are different?

If it was me, i'd want them all working properly! No point in fitting them if you can't adjust them!

Oh and don't break the switches, one of those cost me £200 to replace :o

Thanks for replies people :)

I'm after some new seats and liked the thought of s3 ones

It's eaither travel 320 miles for seat surgeon at £760 or find something a bit different cheaper?

You will NEVER get your vRS seats as comfortable as a Recaro no matter what you do to them or cover them with!

Just budget around £250 for a pair of subframes (the good part is you can recoup some of this back by selling the S3 subframes)

Spot on with that!

What about wiring?

It's a pretty easy job (depending on your skill levels) to make a pair of looms up and connect them to an ignition fed power source.

Where can I source some sub frames? Any recommendations?

.

Capital Seating were the cheapest I found anywhere, there website is however lacking a bit for subframes.

GSM is a better site for prices etc, but they are dearer, they list them @ £110 each + P&P for the Fabia (so £235 posted for a pair)
