Surprise fuel economy

Featured Replies

I had a surprisingly economic journey back from Preston on Friday....started off in snow which then turned to sleet over the Pennines, the whole journey was done in temperatures that never got above 4 deg C and the wind was at near gale force most of the time (The Continental Winter Contacts I had fitted a week ago earned their keep !)

The M42 was chock a block as was the A1, I then got diverted off into South Lincs and the Fens north of Cambridge because the A1was shut due to an accident. The upshot of all this was that I was forced to travel at a fairly sedate pace all the way back to Clare in Suffolk (about 260 miles all told).

The average consumption for the journey was 62.4 mpg (real not maxi-dot).

It may be good for the wallet to get that sort of economy but my goodness it's a boring way to travel !

Has any other Greenline owner managed this sort of figure ?

Hi my greenline is a couple of days old and i travelled from southport to chester and achieved 61mpg but i stuck to 65MPH im a happy chappy.....yes

I'm in the middle of a trip to Austria and I've done two big stints so far. (Greenline II SE)

On both occasions I've used the cruise control extensively and stuck to around 70-75 MPH, I'm also jam-packed to the rafters and running on winter tyres and a new engine.

Both stints were around 53 mpg so I'm quite certain that 60+ is easily attainable with a mature engine, manual control, summer conditions and lightly laden.

Incidentally. It is proving a wonderfully relaxing motorway cruiser. I am very happy indeed.
