front door microswitch

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I can get a microswitch for the drivers side dar of my 2008 Fabia. I have already posted about the problems I have been having with the open door warning setting off the alarm and putting the interior light on even with the door closed. I,ve tried wd40 but this only worked temporarily and reading other posts it looks like the microswitch could be the problem as it seems to be a coomon occurence. It's about time Skoda sorted it out as leaving the car unlocked(my only option) and removing the alarm fuse is not a very safe thing to do! COME ON SKODA SORT ITHIS COMMON COMPLAINT OUT.

They can sort it, buy a door catch.

I'd be checking the door loom first, always breaking wires in the rubber boot in between the door and car.

Contacted Skoda spares but was advised needed to get car plugged in to check if the catch was the problem. Local dealer wasn't very helpful even though it was the garage I had purchased it and wanted £90 for the diagnostics. Took it to an independant vw group garage who plugged it in and found the catch was the problem but after fitting it the original problem reoccurred and they said the module needed replacing as well
