Exhaust noise

Featured Replies

I had got a full custom stainless 3" exhaust on my vrs estate from the turbo back with the cat removed With a cheap e bay down pipe

At idle and partial throttle it sounds ****ty so I then got the cheap down pipe replace buy the company that made the rest of the exhaust

The noise improved but at idle and partial throttle still sounds ****ty company that made exhaust said it needs a centre box as its 3" from engine to back box to get rid of noise .

At full throttle it sounds awesome I took off the 2 nd air system and blanked off the hole in head in case it was that still no joy it sounds like a manifold or down pipe blow but I have checked mt exhaust and the job they have done looks awesome plus there is no leaks even done a smoke test to confirm this.

Has anyone else got a full stainless with a decat and it sounds ****ty or has anyone else had a full stainless with only a back box and it sounds really good

Isn't 3in abit OTT for a VRS unless your running a bigger turbo

It's leaves room for improvement if I decide to fit a bam unit

Mine used to do it on the odd occasion and was also told it was due to no cat or centre box as there were no leaks. Just something you'll have to learn to live with I suppose
