Geo settings

I am just wondering is the any way of dialling in some negative camber to my mk 1 octy ? On my civic I run quite an aggressive geo set up and it really handles well. The octy is ok but I really feel a good geo will make a huge difference.

I reckon I may be able to get a little bit of adjustment at the front but what about the rear? Also has any body tried running toe out at the front or do people just run oem geo

I don't think you can adjust the front camber much on the VRS, you'd have to fit the Audi S3/TT wishbones which allow more camber adjustment. There's no adjustment at the rear either (although there is on the 4x4 models IIRC as they have independent rear suspension).

I think mine has TT wishbones ? I no u can get adjustment on the bottom of the ball joint. I'm wondering about the toe out-in really. Also can I shim the rear to get a little neg camber

You can get adjustable top mounts for the mk4 golf which might fit but are pretty expensive and you can buy camber shims for the rear which are fairly cheap.

Found these on the bay 270601809216 will they fit ?? Surely there all pretty much the same

Yep they will but no point doing it unless you van alter the front wich you can't

mmm

whats this about shims?

I would like to do it on the rear beam to make the rears more neutral rather than toe in. also sort the camber out too so it doesnt wear the inside as bad as it does.

what does it entail to do it?

billy

to OP

get the Cast wishbones and TT/LCR hubs mate, that with the coilovers set down improves the handling.

there's these golf ones but don't know if the fit the octy

top mounts

Yes those top mounts fit

Rear Shims ordered

  • 1 month later...

have you got a link clive?

I am looking at getting the 1 deg kit off ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270601814411?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Or the 0.5 kit, just need to pm Peter at ABC in Leeds to see what he thinks. I am happy that tis will sort the camber out but I want to get rid of the TOE in. I want a more 0 Toe rather than the L +3.9mm R +4.4mm

What ever ABC did when I went up last year it really made it feel better and less drone from the rear. he totally repositioned the beam.

mmmm
