Squeaky Suspension

Featured Replies

When i pass the speed bumpers there emerges a noise like a squeak.. It is some way reletad to cold i assume since it started nearlt 2 months ago as the weather became cold, roads are wet.. Is there somebody facing or faced this problem and found a solution?

In the video on the 4., 12., 22. and 35. seconds the noise is obvious:

My old car - a Renault Scenic did this during the winters too, once the temp dropped below about 3 degrees. I then did it most of the winter till it warmed up.

Took it to the garage 3 times.

They agreed it made a noise over the bumps and stripped down and cleaned the suspension twice - but it still carried on.

The third time they just advised I lived with it!

I went to service too.. They changed the front bushes and anti roll bar(i am not sure about the terms in english) but the problem still contines.. But i cannot accept a word from the service like "it is normal"..

I have seen that topic.. I brought the car to the car washer make them clean the parts with water with preesure but it did not help.. Also, the first thing that the service made was the lubrication and it did not help too..

I have the exact same problem over speed bumps - any news regarding resolving this?

I have still yet to find time and bring the car to the dealer for inspection

This week it started again on my car but it wasn't that obvious.I used a WD-40 spray on all bushes/coil sprigs(bearing),and the squeak was gone.It only takes 10-15 minutes and a handwash to get this job done.Instead of going to the dealer or searching on the internet just go and get dirty

Hey guys - i've had this problem since the start of winters (November) here in delhi - even started a discussion in this forum couple of months ago which i notice is marked in this chat - honestly washing the suspension helped me but only for a few days but i did get clarity that some part needs to be lubricated ! The dealers even changed the 'jumping rod' which is refered above in this chat as a stabiliser bar but the squeak kept coming back. Finally lubricated the bushes one by one & isolated the squeak to the rear bushes of the front suspension arms (each arm has two bushes) - i got under the side of my Superb, took a lubricant spray & liberally sprayed from the back of the front tyres(in line of the front splash guards). I also found out from the skoda dealer that these bushes (rear ones) are fixed into the arms & come as a fixed part of the arms which means that you have buy both arms to change them.

Regards - Parul Taluja.
