Zenec mc5600 installation help please

Featured Replies

Hello, I have only recently become an Octavia VRS owner and have replaced the stream MP3 with a Zenec MC5600. All seems Ok apart from two issues that you may be able to help me out with

I need a new surround for the radio, its the climatronic one, but I dont think the one for the MFD 2/3 is the correct one. Can you provide me a part number?

Also when I try and play back a DVD is says that the car is in motion with a blue screen so no picture is displayed.

I weuld appreciate being pointed in the right direction with these two issues

You cannot play DVD's/MPEG's etc on the main screen whilst the car is in motion. From what I remember it is linked to the handbrake and will only operate while the handbrake is applied.

The only way to playback films is to enable the 2nd zone & fit another screen elsewhere in the car.

With regards to the dash surround, the Zenec that I purchased was for the Pre Facelift Climatronic, I'm not sure if the Post Facelift cars need a different surround. With regards to a part number your best bet will be to speak to a Zenec distributor or Zenec themselfs.

Having tried again - I have discovered that if the ignition is on, and the handbrake is on then teh DVD will play back, as soon as handbrake is released Video goes off - as expected

would be nice to get DVD playback with ignition off!

Cheers

Ah, I'd forgotten about the ignition needing to be turned on, I guess this is for the Zenec to realise the handbrake is applied
