Bora Coilovers on a Rs

Featured Replies

Hello.... Been in dubs for many years now.. currently in a bora and looking to buy a Vrs in the next week or so. Question is, Will my coilovers fit it? It is on the mk4 platform so i would assume it would.

Anything you know that i dont?? I have poly bushed wish bones, TT ARB, coilies im planning on swapping as well as fitting my eibach camber shims on the bum bum.

any advice would be cool.

Thanks

if they have a hole for the droplink to fit at the bottom of the spring cup then i cant see a problem.

Bora's don't though, AFAIK.

the bora only have dinky drop links from ARB to wishbone. I wanted to change my wishbones as there not long polybushed, and my ARB is a TT one as they go under drive shaft not over. (to stop rubbing on drive shaft when shlammed) i think.. my coilovers mite actually have bits on the bottom of the spring cups you know. Im not the luckiest of people so prob no knowing my luck! :(

got any pics of the set up on the front? I thought it was the same as a golf? :S

thanks for ya help..

The set up on the front of the vRS is the same as the four motion Golf as mentioned at it has the under driveshaft arb.

I think it's only the arb drop links that are different buddy. I'm pretty sure te bottom arms are the same as I have. Mk4 gti turbo and a vrs and there the same I'm sure of it

Flg all the parts and go the whole hog mate with

lcr hubs

r32 farb

rarb 24mm+

Cast tt/lcr/r32 wishbones

ball joints.

So long as the coilovers are weighted as front 1000 or 1020kg and rear 1070kg then it should be fine. again so long as it has the bracket for the arb on the strut. if you dont want to swap the farb for the r32 23mm bar leave the 19mm std one on it. dont think the tt one is any different?

Billy

dont think the rears are weighted the same, think i read something about the octy ones being weighted more that the golf/bora ones at the rear.

I would want to fit correctly weighted springs/shocks/coilovers to my car, manufacturers wouldnt rate them differently if there wasnt a reason i guess.
