rear courtesy lights.

Featured Replies

Just wondered why Skoda didn't make the rear courtesy lights up at the grab handle on the estate come on when the door opens. Or do they? Mine only seem to switch on which seems a little useless to me as it is more important to see when you get in and out of the rear of the car which is wha you would need more of the time.

Has anyone moded them to come on with the door switch? if so whats involved?

Been meaning to do the mod myself but have never got round to it lol. Well dark in the back of a Vrs hatch in the dark lol

yh i did have the lights for mine but they where the white one's but lost them i would love get them in black

Yeah,I think Octy's in general are darker than the inside o Darth Vaders Helmet :giggle: thats the only reason I started to wrap with brushed steel, to try and liven it up in there but if I can do this mod with some LEDs then It would be sorted me thinks + maybe do some footwells while I'm at it. By the time I'm finished it will be like a mobile SoHo :D

Did I read the link'd thread right that I need to insulate the earth side of the switch in the light and run an earth from it to the front lights earth? surely I just need to leave 'on' the light and cut the live wire to the rear light and connect to the relevant live in the front lights. job done.......? :|

I believe the lights are negatively switched, rather than positively switched (as one might think). The same applies to the lighting in the boot too.

I am tempted to get some LEDs of the correct fitting and then do mine, as on the odd occasion that I use the lights in the rear I end up leaving them on over night :-(

yeah, its the kids that tend to play with them in mine and leave them on. sa would solve that problem and when they drop toys/sweets/juice etc down in the foot wells it will be easier to spot
