Just got a Fabia, the central locking appears to work for the front doors and boot, but once the car is unlocked the rear doors cannot be opened from the outside. From the inside it is possible to open them normally. I originally thought this might be something to do with the child locks being enabled but this does not appear to be the case. In the manual there is a reference to an emergency locking mechanism for the rear doors. From the symptoms it appears this may be enabled. Does anyone know how to disable this? - thanks

have you tried 2 quick presses of the unlock button on the key??

Figured it out, one press unlocks the drivers door, two unlocks the whole car, not very clear from the manual !

you can get this changed at the dealers so that 1 press opens all doors, i did this as its much better for me

If the problem is not solved, try resetting the convenience control unit at the dealer.

lol I tend to walk up to the car pressing the stupid thing about 50 times to ensure I don't get caught out,as said its a pain in the backside.

does anyone know if this is programmable on slightly older fabs, 08 for example or just newer ones ?

It's programmable on all the Fabias that I have seen from 2000 onwards. It's just a case of altering the convenience module coding using diagnostic equipment.
