Automatic Locking

Do new Yeti's come with the doors auto-locking when you reach approx 10 mph? If not can you enable this feature yourself or is it a dealer fix?

Mine does. I have an Elegance trim model. I don't know if it's the same on other levels of trim.

It is just a setting in the Maxidot. If you have that. So no need to take it to the dealer.

I have the Elegance model on order - how do you get into the Maxidot to change this? My current Octavia L&K model (2005 model) needed the dealer to make the changes.

The Maxidot is the display between the rev counter and speedo, and is accessed through the controls on the right of the steering wheel. It can only be done when the car is standing still, ignition on but engine off.

Why don't you download the Yeti manual from Skoda UK's website. You will have many hours of confusing reading ahead of you while you try to work out what the heck it is saying but you will get answers to questions like these.

The engine does not have to be off to access the Maxidot. I know, I fiddle with mine from time to time when stationary in boring traffic jams!

The auto-locking had an asterisk against it in the early editions of the manual but it doesn't in the latest edition for which I have an electronic copy (since May 2011) so I presume it's standard fitment these days. The Elegance definitely has it.

Just set up mine this morning on my SE after reading this thread. One of those things I kept meaning to do.

I downloaded the Manual (as suggested!!) but could not work out the sequence to activate auto locking. Hopefully this will become clear when I get my Yeti in March! Were the steps to activate self evident?

Isn't it at page ~27 (Auto check control/setup/comfort/door open)? Not sure this is it tho ...

Maybe I downloaded the wrong manual! In my downloaded version it is page 20 but there is a confusion between "comfort" and convenience"! Seems designed to confuse.

There are different versions of the manual circulating (older and updated ones) - that is why I wrote ~27. I dloaded mine from here

And you're right about comfort/convenience ... Seems that since they both start with C it's close enough :giggle:

Yep, just been out to the garage and made the change via the Convenience option on the maxidot - will find out if the doors auto-lock when I take it out on Sunday

If you don't have Maxidot, it could be enabled via VCDS.
