Revo SPS

Featured Replies

Anyone had experience using this ?

I had a helpful reply from Awesome (below) but wondered if any experienced users could shed any more light.

Hi again,

Nothing is on the SPS. Everything is already stored on the vehicles ECU! The SPS is simply a means of switching which setting your ECU uses!

The SPS has Stock, Performance modes 1, 2 and 3.

Mode 1 is for regular fuel.

Mode 2 is for Super Unleaded.

Mode 3 is for Race fuels.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

i have a similar box from shark performance

there are 3 maps on my box

remap

original map

immobiliser map

i just have to plug it in and decide which map to use.

i assume that awesome have the same system

didnt think you could use STS on the fabia vRS due to the incription?

Encryption is bypassed once Revo is installed B)

On a side note, has anyone tried the TMC Tuning box AND have a stage 1 remap?

The box just reduces the numbers to fool the ecu and gives you a performance increase...so, what about lying to an already tuned Ecu? :wonder:

There is one map on the ECU and what the SPS switch does is enable you to switch to 3 preset paramaters within that map which offer different performance outputs. Main differences will be with the ignition timing allowing for more performance boost as a result of the higher octane.

Totally different bit of kit.

The Shark handset is a readily available bit of kit on the market used by many places and tuners. What it does is copy your original map as well as store further performance maps. It then removes what is on the ECU and replaces it with the modified map and vice versa which takes around 20minutes.

The SPS on the other hand doesnt store maps. Its a tool that allows the operator to switch the map that is stored on the ECU to different performance outputs. Its also a very quick bit of kit as its just changing to a preset set of parameters rather than removing and reloading a map

Thanks for the info Sy emoticon-0105-wink.gif

I take it then when I'm using high octane (98 for example) that equates to setting 2 ?

That could end in tears lol. I remember a bloke that had a diesel vectra remapped, to 190 ish bhp, then a tuning box on it as well and it made 215bhp. He's now got a hybrid and methanol and can make over 240bhp

Yes mate. Setting A for 95 ron. Setting B for 98 ron. and Setting C is the 100octane+map
