Boot failure....again. Best place to get a solonoid

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Well i fixed my boot lock but its becoming tempremental.....and always decides to not open when i have the boot full of the weekly shop etc.

Are the stealers the best place to pick up a new solonoid? If so does anyone know the part number?

Cheers in advance

Richard

Hello,

replacement mine from a dealership (Stowmarket VW one) for £15.13 inc vat two weekends ago.

the part number is 1M0 959 781

this is the white box with the scalextric motor inside that jams (as you said only when theres something you want in the boot). mine was for a non VRs hatch - i don't know if they differed for the estate or VRs. i doubt it but someone might be able to confirm.

forgot. my old part was 3B0 959 781 B and the part above is its replacement so if you have the same then thats a good part. also it doesn't come with the coupling that connects the rod to the solenoid - in case yours is worn out. if you get really bored you can light (briefly) up a small 12v bulb but wiring the two pins up to the bulb and pushing (or pulling) the arm back in quickly. imagine the hours you can while away doing that...

Cheers toby, ill call my local dealer today and see what they can do for me. Skoda is a bit of a drive away though so may call VW.

Yea my motor seems to jam as it makes no noise....i took it apart and greased up the cog and its been working but starting to become intermittent.
