vRS mpg problems

Featured Replies

May have to venture back to a diesel again or a smaller engine petrol

I originally wanted a diesel but was scared off by the reported DPF issues on regular short runs. I'd have had to deliberately go out for longer runs at the weekends to clear things out, which wouldn't always be convenient. So... opted for the petrol.

In town cold engine and cold day I'd expect about 17mpg. Much the same as others goes up to about 31-37mpg going to work in the morning (15 miles) depending on temp and traffic. Long term average for me is at 34.7mpg.
