Squeaky shocks

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Been driving one of our two Fabias (both 2005 HTP) this week until the new Octy arrives, and noticed a squeak from the front left hand corner when going over serious dips in the road or speed bumps. Seems to me like the shock absorber, but not sure. If so, can I just spray WD40 or something on the shaft to cure it, like I do on the mountain bike? Can I even get near enough to spray stuff on it? Haven't been under the bonnet yet in view of the c-c-cold weather.

Thanks in advance.

ps if anyone has the original brochure for the 2005/6 range of 1.2 HTP Fabias could you please also let me know the manufacturer's estimate of MPG? I've managed around 47-48 this week on 50-60 mile round trips, with about a quarter motorway, and in this cold weather aswell. Thanks again in advance.
