As remote central locking is somet i want cuz unlocking the door just to open the boot is a pain!

Use a small racing battery and take it out the car where ever you park it.

Don't feel that alarms are actually that effective, most people just ignore them or complain when they go off. Go for something visible like a big steering lock or a wheel clamp. Removing the battery would only be found once they have broken in, easier way to achieve the same thing is to remove the ignition relay, sometimes do that if I leave the car for a protracted period.

If you fit a quick release steering wheel that might also put people off. No way to steal it if you cant steer it!
