Interior light feed from behind the dash?

Featured Replies

I'm in the process in installing some footwell lighting, is there a feed I can pick up from behind the dash? Or do I have to go from the interior light and run a wire down?

I was wondering about taking it from the CCU? Pin 23/21 according to the haynes?

Hate wiring but once I have a plan must follow it though lol

Thinking about it I can't see a feed working from the CCU

Rob did this, I think he tapped into a different feed - maybe the one from the puddle light in the door.

EDIT: Yes, here is the link: http://www.pimpmyskoda.co.uk/FootwellLights.htm

What about from the dimmer switch for the dash lights.

If they are LED's then there's more than enough power and they will dim with the dash lights.

If you want them to come on when you unlock/open the car then your puddle lights will be best.

I know the feed for the dash lights.

Its the door opening one I'm after. Puddle lights? You mean the ones on the doors themselves? Won't work only come on for the door you're opening. Think its gonna have to come from the interior light. Was hoping for one behind the dash hence the CCU idea lol

You could try and trace the wires that go up the headligning. Probably behind one of the side kick panels in the footwells.
