Recently changed gearbox on my fab vrs and only oil i could get hold of was halfords oil and the gears are abit notchy im guessing its the oil as they diddnt have the fabia listed so just went with seat 6speed oil, cheers

I've tried a few but will need to check the spec of the one I have in there now as its the best one I've used so far.Will post back once I verify it.

I checked. It's called Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80 synthetic manual transmission fluid. I bought it in April 2010. At the time it was something like £8+VAT per litre from Opie. It is very good in cold weather as I found you don't get any balking in lower gears. I will most likely choose it again the next time around.

Get the oil from the dealer. They do two versions, the original or a new fully synthetic. Go for the original as the new one is notchy when cold.
