Heated washer nozzles retro fit

Featured Replies

Having just acquired a low mileage ex-demo Superb in mint-as-new condition, a significant saving was made against purchasing new. However, some preferred options had to be forfeited. One of which was Heated Washer Nozzles.

According to the built your own tool on skoda.co.uk, this option is only an addition £50 on a factory order – does anyone one know what’s involved and which parts are needed to retro fit these?

You are going to need a pair of heated nozzles and wiring looms at least.

Not sure where they wire up to though, but the next time I open the bonnet I will see if I can see where they go to.

I have these as a factory fitted option. How do you know when they are working as I cannot find any reference to them in the handbook.

The handbook states that they come on when the ignition is switched on and go off after a short period.

I wired them on my Octy years ago.

You need 2 heated washer nozzles and some insulated wires or even better thin flat black insulated mains cable as you want the actual wires to be protected from elements. Connect nozzles in parallel to the cable, fit the hoses and mount. Run cable via to the inside via a new hole in the grommet (I'm sure there is one, as a last resort you can run them next to boot release cable).

Connect ground to ground, and live wire to Fuse #1 in the fusebox. That way you have them fused in case of short circuit. They come on with ignition, and go off automatically when warmed up.
