Introduction, oil leak and suspension query

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just purchased a TDi(AHF) estate as a daily, I'm new to Skodas and TDi's but been tinkering with VW's for a good few years now, mainly MK2's.

I noticed yesterday that there was a number of small patches of oil on the ground where the car has been parked, so this evening I had a good old nosey and it seems to be coming from this pipe (see image below) which I presume is the oil feed for the turbo. It's leaking from the bottom of the bolt, is it just a case of a new 'o' ring?

I also noticed that theres a kink in the steel overbraid (so presumably the pipe as well) on the pipe that I assume is the oil return pipe coming off the bottom of the turbo, should I get this replaced? Same pipe as this one:

Now on to the suspension query. I've done a bit of researching but was hoping someone with the knowledge could just answer yes or no to the following to confirm my thinking, will the VRS suspension along with R32 arb fit my tdi estate if I change the dampers, springs, arb, arb drop links and top mounts?

Thanks all, I appreciate any and all help.

Dan

No point in even thinking about Vrs or golf suspension the tdi is a lot heavier than a petrol model plus the dampers are different due to the arb having different fixing points it will be a lot of work to make a bad handling car all the spring and damper settings will be wrong

There's loads more choice for suspension for your car than the Vrs

Thanks for the reply Raf, I thought that would be the case.

I've also found the info required to solve my oil leak.

Hi

What info did you get on the oil leak. I think I have the same problem with my turbo, oil leak from the feed pipe into the turbo. any info would be great - thanks
