Skoda 'cost price' events

Featured Replies

Has anyone been to one of these? My local dealer have just invited me to one of these events (the usual specially selected customer bs), but I called up to enquire and was told that every vehicle in the skoda line up was available at dealer cost price plus £1.

So what exactly does this mean - how much can I expect to pay. If a new Petrol VRS was available for a silly low price I would have one - but are they going to be any cheaper than drive the deal etc?

The deal is that you have to order a vehicle at the event, and the prices are there to tempt you in to doing so. So how much are they likely to be?

Have you seen this thread? They're suggesting 6 - 9% off but it was 5 years ago so may not be overly relevant?

Thanks might but sounds like this is a different offer. This offer is every model in every range, basically any car that Skoda do in any colour with any options. As Skoda are still doing VAT free, I'm hoping that the discount would be more like 30%. If that's the case i'll treat myself to a new car (maybe 2!), but I really don't know if it will be that good.

I'd suspect that with the end of the financial year looming the dealerships are trying to hit their sales targets with Skoda to get their annual bonus.

This time of year you can find cracking deals if you've money to spend.

Drive the deal will be the same price. I got mine at a £150 loss for the dealer.

If it's drive the deal prices i'm not interested, I'm not particularly after a new car unless it's a bargain. I've just been checking out the Yeti's at my local dealer and have got my eye on a nice SE Plus spec 1.8TSI 4x4. If I can get it at similar to pre-VAT price i'll have one, if not i'll keep the VRS for another year or 2. We'll see what happens!

After a chat with the dealer it sounds like the offer won't be as good as hoped, it sounds like it will be more like 10% off across the range +- a few % depending upon model. I'll go and take a look in case but it won't be as good as hoped.

At cost on the vehicle is the invoiced price from Skoda UK, if its anything like when I was at Honda its not much less than the sale price. As said above the money comes from hitting sales targets not the actual sale of a single car.

Thanks - apparently they are hoping to sell 50 cars, i'm guessing to hit end of year targets so I am hoping there will be incentives in place for us to buy them!!

Well I went to this event but left empty handed. Some good deals, but not quite good enough to get me in to a Yeti (not just yet at least). They were selling VRS' for 4k off list(!), the Yeti was £1800 off (3k off and I would have bought it!).

Worth knowing though in case these offers pop up elsewhere and the discounts work out well for you.
