CD Multi Changer Disc removal.

Featured Replies

Hi All

Is there any way of getting the discs out of the boot mounted multi changer with out power to it?

As some of you know I had an inccident with my Octavia Vrs yesterday after a local dealler checked the injectors for the recall work, which resulted in my car being destroyed by fire in the engine bay so no power to the car any more. the Multi changer has 6 of my cd's stuck in it that I want back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ouch! What happened? Diesels don't usually do that. :o What did the dealer say?

I don't think there's a manual eject. But I also don't think there's any "coding" between the autochanger and the head-unit, so you should be able to whip the autochanger out, plug it into another octy and eject the disks. In theory if you could find the pin assignments, you could power the changer without a headunit and eject all the disks.

I think it was either diesel or oil leaking on to the turbo

Jesus that's not good.

Would think you could take it out and get some power to it with some wire and a spare battery.
