major Yeti design flaw - has anyone noticed this?

Featured Replies

Has anyone among the taller Yeti drivers noticed that during night driving the lower part of the instrument panel is reflected in the upper part of the windscreen? The fuel gauge is clearly visible ! Having a right hand drive in the UK you will see the temperature gauge.

I find it disturbing and I lower the sun visor a bit to stop it.

Did you notice this?

what do you think?

:o You have a head up display in your yeti :giggle:

sorry I will get my coat and close the door on the way out

6ft and cannot say I have noticed this issue.

Oh but to have a HUD and a FLIR :D

Combination of tal person and short arms, therefore sitting close to steering wheel and very upright?

Sitting further back would eliminate this

6'3", never noticed it.

But as I'm tall I sit with the seat quite low as otherwise I feel like I'm sitting on the roof.

Not noticed this. Maybe turning down the instrument brightness would help?

I notice it a bit but I turn the brightness down at night and can't say it's annoying me too much. I have too many other issues to worry about at the moment. LOL

I'm average height and can't say I've noticed this.

6'2 and never noticed it. Though I do have the seat a long way back and high up - to look down on the rest of the world.

6' 5 1/2"

Yes I've noticed it and did consider that it wasn't well thought out. I did also wonder if it was the same for every one else.

I get this on my Superb Estate, I am 6'3". I've also noticed it on the rare occasion SWMBO has let me drive her Yeti at night.

6'2 and noticed the same problem. Glad it's not just me! A bit of compromising with the seat position seemed to sort it, though.

183cm (metric, innit bro) and never noticed.

5ft 6 and never noticed this, but maybe because I'm still grinning even after 18 months :D

I'm 6ft and I've never noticed this problem. I do think I sit rather low, though - in fact I have been wondering whether I should have my seat a bit higher.

Don´t worry about it, on the Octavia I get the green main beam light on my drivers side mirror :giggle:

I'm almost 6' and sit with the seat almost at it highest point so I also can look down on other traffic

That mirror gets in the way though......and it is the raised one.....

Seems like all the 'vertically challenged members' / dwarfs (in this instance under 6' 2" :giggle: ) don't have the problem.

Yeah, makes the "major Yeti design flaw" claim seem a little overblown. I was expecting something properly 'major', like: they explode killing everyone within a 20 mile radius whenever the odometer rolls past 50,000 miles. That kind of thing. A reflection from inside the cabin at night which might be little annoying for very tall people looks to me like gross misrepresentation - I'll get on to Trading Standards. Perhaps the OP should, as well...

I can see the green from the auto light switch reflected in the drivers door mirror at night....

Its all to do with Darwin, we verticaly challenged members have evolved at the right time and obviously one of our tribe works for Skoda as a designer.
