Just my 'new' used vRS last month. Splendid!

However, much to my annoyance, I can't get the footie on radio 5!! No AM reception at all.

I have heard this may be a known problem with all VAG cars, I know my chums with VWs have the same problem.

Is there anything I can 'snap in' to help this?

Is this with an aftermarket radio or the original Skoda headunit? If it is the former, you may need one of these: http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/vw.asp

I can get AM reception on mine; I regularly listen to the live games.

Ensure you press and hold down the AM/FM button till it switches frequencies.

Thanks for advice - now I've found my post! It's the original radio - the six CD changer one, but can't get any AM stations (I could on my old car no problem).

As per my previous post, does the radio actually switch to AM and display AM in the panel. If the problem pesists just take the car back to Skoda for a warranty job.

I can get R5 on mine (6 disc octy standard). :confused:

Check what Des said.I couldn't work it out at first! Just hold it down long enough

Yeh, it goes to AM on the panel, but a scan all the way through the frequencies just keeps going and doesn't stop at any stations.

However, maybe with Liverpool's season this year, I'm probably best not listening to the footie results for a while...

Perhaps you should switch to supporting Chelsea

I'd get your dealer to check this for you, there are plenty of people on here that can vouch for AM reception.
