Think i may go for it depending on how difficult it is to fit and what is required, presume it just need switching on with VAGCOM?

Probably yes. I have a 2011 vRS that can now have cruise control retrofitted (initially a kit was not available). Didn't like the almost £390 cost to do it though. i think the cost of the kit is about £150 (+VAT?), then the time to do the job (i think that was something like 2.5 hours) + VAT.

On the 2010 onwards models there is no 6Q control unit, but the kit is best part of £180 and I'd charge £100 to fit at least.

Yeah its £179, robbing *****!!! Im goin to try sob story as iv had to have new engine, turbo's, fuel pump an its going in soon for rattles so may see if theyll help me in any way at all

To be fair the combination switch (both stalks) is best part of £80 on its own, plus the wiring loom etc then it's expensive sure but that's progress for you.
