any recommendations for DRL

Featured Replies

Not really interested in putting LED strips on my vRS but I was wondering if there is a replacement for the sidelight bulb that would be bright enough to function as a DRL?

Wouldn't mind whether it looked halogen or LED - I don't think the sidelights are bright enough to serve this function.

The sidelight is just that isn't it - something you can use to leave on while you aren't at the car without running the battery down

DRLs are something completely different and IMO is a yet another daft legislation forced upon us (unvoted on) by Europe. What is the actual need for these again apart from to be distracting ?

Can't see the point, or requirement for them myself. If you need lights on then put your lights on, and if they aren't good enough upgrade them instead

+1!

Could always hardwire the headlights into the ignition? Nice and cheap, put a switch in and they can be disabled too (for the Eurotunnel or whatever). Or the other option to that is just to turn the headlights on manually each time! Tis what I do!

Otherwise search for Korbans SE - he had some pretty interesting LED mods going on.
