1.4 tsi - noise

Featured Replies

I want to say something about my engine.... everything seems to be perfect, but when i press the gas pedal and get close about 2500 rpm, the noise of the engine suddenly increases and then decreases. Is that you pass a threshold.

I can not remember know if doing so when i got it from dealer.

Is this thing, normal??

What kind of noise is it? Sounds like something may be loose and is making noise at certain vibration frequencies.....? I am sure some TSI owners will advise you soon.

Most clearly heard when i accelerated slowly and close to 2500 rpm and of course the engine is warm (90 degrees C).

Here there is no tsi ...??

Hey!!!

Sorry, don't have a 1.4 TSI, but the 1.2 TSI does not do that.

I dont notice any noise increase ~2500rpm in 1.4TSI.

This won't help with your problem but I thought I might share my experience.

I have had my Yeti 2.0lt TDI SE (two wheel drive) for over a year now, but since new, a vibration appears when the revs reached 2500rpm (in all gears), you can definitely hear the vibration as well as feel it. Also when the car is cold i.e. first thing in the morning, when accelerating I get a knocking noise coming from the gearbox/drive area. The knocking goes away when the engine is warm but the vibration stays. My Skoda dealer (Coventry) acknowledges that there is a problem but are unable to find the problem (or are waiting for the warranty to run out). The vibration is so bad that in any trip over half an hour my feet get pins and needles in them. This is most uncomfortable and it is driving me nuts.

I have posted this problem on this site before but no solutions have been forthcoming.

Did your problem ever get resolved. I have the exact same problem. At 2500rpm the engine makes more noice and as soon as I'm passed the 2500rpm it goes back to normal. If it was resolved I can go back to my dealer with this information. Thanks!
