Hi all can anyone tell me the maximum weight you can put on the towball on my 2002 supurb my caravan handbook says the max is 100kg but i dont know what the max for the car is

is this the nose weight that you are reffering too.

the actual towing weight would be at least four figures

ie 1300 kg

to find the nose weight put block of wood under the caravans

towing hitch and place onto a bathroom scale thus giving the

nose weigh of the van.this can be altered by placing most of

the heaviest luggage over the axle of the van whilst transporting.

one thing to watch on the superb is reversing up any decent incline

with the van on as the clutch is crap and will overheat and slip like mad.

the best advice i would give if you think its gonna struggle go steady

and dont knacker the clutch.but that aside the superb is a great towing

car and will pull quite heavy vans with no trouble.

Superb Mk 1 has 75kg nose weight.

Funnily enough, the number is not in the owner's manual, when I needed it for my towbar box carrier, I had to look it up in technical data brochure printed around the time Superb was made (mine is 2006).
