unknown button

Featured Replies

I have just noticed today, after all this time, there is a button on the drivers door pillar down by the seat squab, it has an indicator of a car outline with what I presume is supposed to indicate the ultra sonic sensors inside the car. My question is it will push in to simulate a push button switch, but not much seems to happen. When the ignition is turned on the light on the button goes out, fine, but switching it again seems to do nothing. Presumeably this is to switch on and off the ultra sonics, but how do you know wether they are on or not, or has this button some other function?

thanks

Dobie

it is indeed the button to turn the interior alarm sensors on / off. They are always on until you press this button and lock the car, in my old octy the button used to light-up in amber when pressed. They will then remain off until the car is unlocked, so if you want to leave the car with the sensors off you need to press the button everytime you lock the car.
