SAi problem

Featured Replies

Ive got that really loud hoover sound on cold start and have been told before it sounds like a sai problem. i had a look when i was changing the pick up pipe and some of the rivets holding the 2 parts together are definately shot.

is there a guide someone can point me at or any tips/hints/info or this fix would be much appreciated...

thanks in advance

Or alternatively just rip it.

Google is your friend buddy.

I took 20 seconds to find this...

I think there is a guide on here somewhere but would take longer to find it

Basically drill out rivets and replace with a screw and nut and this will stop that noise due to air leaking.

thanks Bowders

thats a great DIY guide for amateurs like myself. ive a funny feeling im gonna be one of those guys who is struggling to get the pump in or out but will have to give it a try cause like they all said that noise is embarrasing. i dont leave the driveway till it knocks off now

might try a bit of silicone on the inside too as an extra soundproof...

if i think of it ill take a ffew pics while im down there too..

thanks again
