Another Columbus question

Featured Replies

Hi

Just fitted my Columbus unit with a dension 5 gateway. Working a treat. The only problem is are the buttons on the steering wheel are not working. Went to two ICE specialist in my area and they advised me to go to Skoda. So I went to Skoda and they went to code it and said because the octavia is a 2005 model and the Columbus is 2007 it won't code. Has anyone else experienced this and fixed it or can it not be fixed??

Thanks

Yes, it is well known problem for Columbus in pre-FL Octavias and can be fixed by loading modified firmware. It has already been discussed here several times, just google for "PQTABLE SKTABLE swap".

Another question. How do you find out what firmware you have on?? As reading through the gti forum I could end up deleting the map

If your secret menu is activated then you need to press for about 15-20 seconds on the Setup button and look in there

I have firmware version 2764 so looking through the website it should hopefully keep the map.

For some strange reason my dension gateway 5 unit decided it randomly didn't want to work. I did a bit of playing around and now it's working. Just with very poor sound quality from my iPhone now. I've contacted dension and will probably have to download there firmware now. Fingers crosses
