Music file type for Columbus

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell mne what type of file format i need my music into to transfer it in from SD card to my HDD on my columbus. Tried copying and pasting onto card from I Tunes but dosent reconise it when copying to columbus.

Thanks in advance

SD card reader doesn't read iPlayer file format.

I'm sure there have been several threads on here about converting the files to a suitable format. At work and the "search" function doesn't seem to work for me.

The files must be MP3 or unprotected WMA format. if you have used itunes on the default settings to rip your own music then the files will be in AAC format which is unsupported, this is also the format used for purchased content in itunes.

Thanks for that. Found article on net and now select album I require in ITunes, in options select create mp3 copy. I then copy and paste these to folder on sd card and then copy to head unit. A bit long winded perhaps but it works. Kept a copy on my computer in case all goes t*ts up.
